Acts 10:34-35 New Living Translation
Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right…”

People say all the time, “Life isn’t fair.” Yet, deep inside, they believe GOD must be fair.
It’s true. He is. The Bible provides reassurances about that.
Then why do some people have more than enough and others never have enough? Why do some people never get a break and others have continual favor?
There is more than meets the eye. There is spiritual activity behind the scenes. GOD is always at work.
How does that work behind the scenes make things fair? Because GOD can balance the same level of sorrow that someone has suffered by giving them an equal amount of gladness. One who has suffered great lack, can have their situation turned around to great provision. One who has suffered deep sorrow can have it turned to deep joy.
Everyone has an invitation to GOD’s table and prayer changes things.
Look at this prayer in Psalm 90:15-16 New Living Translation: Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good. Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.
In another passage, GOD demonstrates His principle of working vengeance for the people who are in covenant with him. Zechariah 9:11-12 New Living Translation says, “Because of the covenant I made with you, sealed with blood, I will free your prisoners from death in a waterless dungeon. Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles…”
GOD took the catastrophic circumstances of Joseph’s life and wove them into an amazing life of victory and usefulness. Joseph testified to his brothers in Genesis 50:20 New International Version, “ You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
JESUS proclaimed in Luke Chapter 4 that this prophesy was about Him:
Isaiah 61:1-3 New International Version
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
His intention is to establish justice, in His perfect timing and throughout all eternity.
Jeremiah 9:23-25 New International Version says, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,’ declares the Lord.”
So, what if you have been waiting, and you have been asking, and you need circumstances to change right now? You can pray to GOD like David prayed in Psalm 22 (which also contains powerful prophesies about the crucifixion of JESUS CHRIST). Psalm 22:19 New International Version pleads, “But you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me.” Ask Him to move quickly. Some prayers are answered immediately. Some prayers take time. But, GOD understands the concept of emergency.
Take comfort that GOD does provide a way out for His children. Ask Him to help you find it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 New Living Translation says “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
GOD is devoted to you. He is orchestrating your path. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Rest under the presence of His compassion and guidance. Tell Him you need Him. Ask Him to show up.
1 Peter 3:11-13 New Living Translation says, “Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”
